Form Higher University Technicians in Maintenance Petroleum area, capable of assimilating and applying scientific and technological knowledge fulfilling the expectations of the study plans, contributing to the sustained and sustainable development of the industry and the region, increasing the competitive level of the productive energy sector.

Provide a Higher University Technician in Maintenance Petroleum area with a high level of competitiveness based on their knowledge and skills, transforming this knowledge into industrial realities, making a relevant assessment in the productive energy sector of the region, guided by committed teaching staff and consolidated academic bodies that remain at the forefront of advances in practical technological development.
Admission Profile:
Students entering UTM for the career of Maintenance Petroleum area must possess certain knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as to meet certain administrative requirements that will allow them to adequately begin their university studies. The most important elements that students must have before entering UTM can be divided into two. On one hand, there are administrative requirements and on the other hand, the desirable academic elements.
Among the administrative requirements for all applicants is to have completed high school or equivalent, take the CENEVAL exam, present a birth certificate and CURP, as well as to cover the registration fees for four months.
The desirable competencies of applicants who wish to enter into the career of Maintenance Petroleum area include scientific and/or technological disciplines; students should know of physics, chemistry, arithmetic, algebra, probability, calculus, and trigonometry; they should have an interest in technology and engineering areas, and a taste for machines and tools. Applicants must have the ability to express themselves orally and in writing, to analyze and solve problems, a taste for learning, an interest in understanding their environment, and for their integral formation; it is also desirable that they have knowledge of English and some computer experience.

The Higher University Technician in Maintenance Petroleum area will be a professional trained to act with a high sense of social and ethical belonging, making rational, efficient, and sustainable use of the resources at his disposal, committed to technological and economic development, and aware of his responsibility. Able to integrate scientific/technological characteristics of unit operations in the implementation, development, and control of productive energy processes and to solve in practical way difficulties at the operative level of the same. With skills to calculate, evaluate, install and operate equipment, participate in the research and design processes of new processes or technological advances, contributing to the sustainable development of the communities and region.
