UTMatamoros obtains honorable mention in the Model United Nations TECMUN XXXV 2022.
Students from the debate team of the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros obtained 3 honorable mentions in the Model United Nations TECMUN XXXV 2022 organized by the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey campus Estado de México, which took place from March 16 to 18 in the State of Mexico.
Obtaining the following distinctions:
HONORABLE MENTION
Silvia Alejandra Martínez Sánchez representing the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
HONORABLE MENTION
Agustín Ledezma Garza representing the State of Israel in the committee of the Sixth Legal Committee of the General Assembly.
HONORABLE MENTION
Arturo Sangabriel Arcos representing the Republic of India in the committee of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) whose protocol was conducted in English.
OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION
Elva Nohemí García Ayala representing the Republic of Colombia in the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION
Dhelma Flores Ordaz representing the Federal Republic of Germany in the committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
In this meeting the students competed with more than 400 young people from different schools throughout the Mexican Republic where they put to the test their skills in communication, persuasion, leadership, negotiation, posture, diplomacy, among others.
They were accompanied by Ms. Itzayani Isabel Terwogt Olvera, teacher coordinator of the debate club of our institution as well as Dr. Alicia Estrada Torres, Mtro. Carlos Alberto Hinojosa Salazar and Mtro. Javier Berrones Blanco, teacher advisors.
