With the participation of 200 registered projects, Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros was the regional venue for the 21st edition of the Creativity and Technological Innovation Contest, organized by the State Government through the Tamaulipas Science and Technology Council of the Tamaulipas Secretary of Education.

The winners of the 6 categories obtained their direct pass to the state stage to be held from October 29 to 31 at the Polyforum, in Ciudad Victoria. Flavio Hinojosa Álvarez, Rector of the UT, highlighted the impulse that the government of Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca has given to the creativity of the students of the different educational levels, through tools such as the call for this contest.

«It is an honor for our University to host this important event for the third time, where students representing educational levels from preschool, elementary school, high school, middle and higher education, and graduate school come together; all of them have put into play their skills and learning built in different areas of knowledge,» said the UTMatamoros rector.

He added that with this creativity and technological innovation contest in its regional phase, students, teachers and directors are fulfilling this task, to ensure that our students at all levels have the spaces to develop their academic skills and thinking skills that continue to nourish their ingenuity and creativity, to contribute to the growth of science and technology in Tamaulipas».

The event was attended by the General Coordinator of the Technological Innovation Contest and head of the Department of Orientation and Scholarships of the Tamaulipas Council of Science and Technology, Mr. Luis Eduardo Arevalo, from the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, Mr. Alan Gerardo Ortiz, from CREDE Matamoros, Dr. Maria Elena Montalvo, as well as the presence of high school and college directors, counselors, the Delegate of Economy and local businessmen.
