UTMatamoros holds a Robot Line Follower and Mini Sumo Competition
Students of the career in Técnico Superior Universitario (TSU) in the Mechatronics Automation area made the presentation of projects with a contest of line follower robots, which perform a predefined trajectory at a constant speed autonomously and sumo robots, which respond automatically to the opponent’s attack in order to expel it from the competition area.
On this occasion, 20 teams participated and tested their ability to program a series of instructions to the robot, in order to control and influence its physical behavior, achieving their goal through a demonstration of tracking and endurance.

Diana Masso Quintana, UTM’s rector, commented that with this type of competition, students are encouraged to continue putting into practice their skills and abilities, which are reinforced as they advance in their academic training, ensuring that these are indispensable tools and experiences for their professional development.
