UTM WILL PRESENT THE NOBEL PRIZE IN CHEMISTRY, DR. MARIO MOLINA, WITH A LECTURE ON «CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT».
On November 26th, the Technological University of Matamoros will present the conference «Climate Change and Sustainable Development», to be given by Dr. Mario Molina, Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry.
On November 26, the Technological University of Matamoros will present the conference «Climate Change and Sustainable Development» to be given by Dr. Mario Molina, Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, informed the institution’s rector, Jose Antonio Tovar Lara.
He added that Dr. Molina’s lecture, who last Wednesday received the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded by the President of the United States, Barack Obama, will be held at the Cantera Room of the Holiday Inn Hotel at 11:00 hrs.
Tovar Lara explained that the Technological University of Matamoros is presenting this conference with the support of the Governor of Tamaulipas, Egidio Torre Cantu, and the Secretary of Education, Dr. Diodoro Guerra Rodriguez.
He explained that the conference will be attended by higher education students from technological and polytechnic universities, technological institutes from all over Tamaulipas, as well as private institutions, researchers and representatives of civil society.
Tovar Lara expressed that due to the importance of the topic to be presented by Dr. Molina, who has conducted important research on the thinning of the ozone layer, students from Texas universities, including UTB, Allamo and Houston Community College, among others, will also participate.
Dr. Molina is among the 16 personalities from the world of politics, science, arts, culture and sports, for which he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the highest award that the U.S. government gives to a civilian, so for the Technological University of Matamoros is proud to present one of the men whose research is contributing to improve the environment around the world.
