UTM WILL PRESENT SUSANA ALEXANDER, MARTA LAMAS AND TERE BERMEA WITH GENDER EQUITY TOPICS
To promote activities related to the strengthening of gender equity, the Technological University of Matamoros will present on August 9, 16 and 23, respectively, the writer Marta Lamas Encabo, the renowned actress Susana Alexander and the communicator Tere Bermea, who will give lectures on topics related to the constitutional principle of gender equality, informed José Antonio Tovar Lara, rector of the institution.
The writer Marta Lamas Encabo, who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005, will give a lecture on August 9 on «What do we talk about when we talk about gender?» during an event to be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros’ Connection Building.
Marta Lamas is a Mexican anthropologist and one of the most prominent feminists in Mexico; she has written 13 books related to gender equity. During her talk with the university community, she will share her vision on the current challenges Mexico faces in terms of the equality that should exist between women and men.
The renowned actress, Susana Alexander also accepted the invitation of the UTM to present the great conference «The role of women in Mexico in the XXI Century» to be presented on August 16 at 11:00 am at the Holiday Inn Hotel convention center.
Susana Alexander is recognized as one of the most important figures in the artistic and cultural world of Mexico; her participation in television, in countless television shows, cultural programs, soap operas and poetry capsules; as well as her memorable performances in both classical and contemporary theater and her tireless work in education, giving workshops for teachers, motivational lectures for parents and performing in the most remote schools throughout the country has made her be considered a unique and beloved artist by the Mexican people.
The third great conference to be presented by the Technological University of Matamoros is called «Gender Equity: A daily challenge» presented by the writer and communicator Tere Bermea, on August 23rd at 11:00 am in the UTM’s linkage building.
Tere Bermea is a successful communicator, speaker, neuro-semantic trainer, meta-coach, an expert in unleashing the personal and professional power of people; she has a great facility to reach the hearts of women who have followed her throughout 30 years of her professional career.
