UTM WAR BAND RANKS AMONG THE TOP FIVE IN MEXICO
In a confrontation held in Los Mochis, Sinaloa
UTM’s War Band ranks among the top five in Mexico
When facing more than 30 war bands that participated in the national confrontation of bands organized by the newspaper El Debate of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, the war band of the Technological University of Matamoros, directed by Mr. José Antonio Tovar Lara, placed among the best five in the country.
The aforementioned confrontation, organized by the mentioned media, is the most important meeting of war bands organized in Mexico, in which the best bands in the country participate in the free category.
Bands from the following states participated: Morelia, Tamaulipas, Baja California Norte, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, Estado de México and Querétaro.
The war band of the Technological University of Matamoros displayed the professionalism of its members, who demonstrated excellence in playing wind and percussion instruments during the event, which was attended by naval, military and government authorities of Los Mochis, as well as the newspaper El Debate, which has organized this event for 24 years.
Upon their arrival in Matamoros, the members of the war band presented the recognition obtained in the national competition to the rector of the UTM, who acknowledged the effort demonstrated in the confrontation, while calling on them to continue strengthening the discipline they perform with discipline and responsibility.
