UTM STUDENTS WIN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE NORTHEASTERN REGION.
Once again, the students of the Matamoros Technological University («Universalidad Tecnológica de Matamoros») placed the name of this border municipality, Matamoros, on a high level by winning the Northeast Regional Robotics Championship through their participation in the 3rd Forum «Tamaulipas Emprende», which took place on the 5th, 6th and 7th days of this month in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.
This was reported by the UT Matamoros rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, who said that the students were competing with other young university students from different UTs and Polytechnics in the states of Nuevo León, Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz and Tamaulipas.
The students, regional champions northeast zone, he said, are: Hector Gutierrez Flores, Erick Guajardo Gutierrez, Oscar Pavel Rangel, David Cantu Franco and Armando Garizurieta Perales.
While the teacher advisors were: Ricardo Esteban Treviño Parras and Esteban Lerma Puente, «who, with their dedication and determination, along with their students were able to obtain the Northeast Zone Regional Championship in Robotics,» he expressed.
«Tamaulipas Emprende», he explained, is a platform where entrepreneurs and young university students from various states of the Republic, present their projects and set up this competition that has to do with Robotics, without leaving aside the interesting conferences that are exposed there touching on Science and Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and other topics of great interest.
He added that authorities from the National Council of Science and Technology and the Tamaulipas Council of Science and Technology also participate in the event, guiding the young people in the patenting of their projects.
The UT Matamoros president also said that the Tamaulipas Emprende platform also exhibited the work done by another group of young people from the same university, projects that have to do with the development of video games and that certainly the authorities of Conacyt and Cotacyt also liked a lot.
Finally, Rector Bermea Vázquez congratulates all the personnel who work at UT Matamoros, «because once again it is demonstrated that the effort of everyone allows us to continue maintaining the good academic level that our Technological University of Matamoros has today,» she concluded.
