UTM STUDENTS VISIT THE «GENERAL MOTORS» COMPANY IN SILAO, GUANAJUATO.
Students from the Technological University of Matamoros («Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros»), from the HUT International Business Operations program, visited General Motors in the city of Silao, Guanajuato last Friday, June 22.
With the firm commitment to train young professionals, professors Irene García Montoya, Jaime Isaac Gutiérrez de la Vara and Edith Salinas Saldívar, with the support of this educational institution, were able to take a group of students to General Motors, where they were given a lecture on the manufacturing process of the Sierra Silverado and Cheyenne trucks, from the entry of rolls of sheet metal to the exit of the product to the final line at 30 km per hour.
The topic of the Global Supply Chain of General Motors and its Distribution Chain was also discussed. Finally, they were given a tour of the entire plant, where they were able to observe the manufacturing process of the previously mentioned trucks.
The Technological University of Matamoros («Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros»), with the support of its Rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vazquez, continues to provide the opportunity for students to visit companies in other cities, with the objective of acquiring more knowledge and reinforcing each of the subjects they have studied so far.
