UTM STUDENTS TRAVEL TO CUBA FOR TECHNICAL INTERNSHIP AT CIENFUEGOS UNIVERSITY
In order to strengthen its relations with higher education institutions in Cuba, in addition to promoting its internationalization program, this Saturday the UTM sent a group of students to the University of Cienfuegos, where they will carry out a technical internship that will include topics related to energy and visits to the Jaraguá nuclear plant and the «Camilo» oil refinery in that country.
As part of this program, the rector of the Technological University of Matamoros, José Antonio Tovar Lara, will sign a collaboration agreement next week with Dr. Juan Bautista Cogollos Martínez, rector of the University of Cienfuegos, in Cuba.
One of the objectives of the agreement is to enable, facilitate and encourage cooperation in scientific and technological development, the training and exchange of human resources, as well as to promote the establishment of joint projects in areas of common interest, such as research.
Meanwhile, students from the Technological University of Matamoros will carry out their technical internship at the Cuban university where they will deal with the following topics: renewable and non-renewable energies; energy management references in the industry; the ISO 50001:2011 Standard; energy planning, as well as integration into the quality and environmental management systems.
The students from the Technological University of Matamoros flew to Mexico City on Saturday to take their flight to Havana and then to Cienfuegos, Cuba, where they will do their technical internship.
