UTM STUDENTS REPRESENT MEXICO IN ROBOTICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

UTM students represent Mexico in Robotics World Championship

The students from the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros who won their pass to the VEX Robotics 2014 World Championship representing Mexico, left this Wednesday for Anaheim, California, where the meeting will be held from April 24 to 27, with young people from all over the world who will demonstrate their talent and ability in the design, programming and handling of robots.

This important achievement of UTM students, who for the third consecutive year have won the right to represent Mexico in the important world event, is the result of the support that the Constitutional Governor of Tamaulipas, Mr. Egidio Torre Cantú, gives to higher education for the development of science and technology, said the rector of the institution, José Antonio Tovar Lara.

The rector explained that students from the Technological University of Matamoros won the pass to Anaheim, California, to win the national robotics championship in which 67 teams from higher education institutions from all over the country participated, including Technological Universities, Technological Institutes, Polytechnic Universities and private institutions.

A few days ago, Dr. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez, Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas held a meeting with the UTM rector and with the students that make up the robotics team, to whom he expressed the pride that represents for the entity, the fact that young people from Tamaulipas represent Mexico in a championship that brings together the best robotics teams from around the world.

This speaks of their effort, of the work they are doing as a university, so I express my pride for those of us who are in charge of education and I wish them the best of success,» said Guerra Rodriguez during the meeting with the UTM rector and the robotics team.

Thank you for taking Mexico’s name to the World Cup for the third consecutive time, where it will go down in the history of technology that our country is also enterprising, with new ideas and above all with ingenious young people with a high level of IQ as you are, the young people of tomorrow in Mexico, added the Secretary of Education, he told the students of the Technological University of Matamoros.

El equipo de robótica de la Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros partió este miércoles a Anaheim, California para representar a México en el Campeonato Mundial VEX Robotics 2014. Fueron felicitados por el secretario de Educación en Tamaulipas, Dr. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez; los acompaña el rector de UTM, José Antonio Tovar Lara.

The robotics team from the Technological University of Matamoros left this Wednesday for Anaheim, California to represent Mexico in the VEX Robotics 2014 World Championship. They were congratulated by the Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas, Dr. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez; they were accompanied by UTM’s rector, José Antonio Tovar Lara.
