UTM STUDENTS OUTSTAND AT THE NATIONAL SPORTS AND CULTURAL ENCOUNTER.
The students of UTM had an excellent participation in the XXIII National Sports and Cultural Encounter 2019, which took place on April 12 and 13 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.
Flavio Hinojosa Álvarez, UTM’s rector, said that young Roberto Almazán obtained three national first places, in 100 meters flat, 110 meters hurdles and long jump.
While the student Blanca Paola Rodríguez Bermúdez won a gold medal in women’s chess and the student Kevin Macías Álvarez won a silver medal in the same discipline.
Edgar Manuel Chaidez Amaya won the silver medal in Tae Kwon Do, while the bronze medal went to Abigail Gallegos Garza and Jesús Daniel Pérez Contreras.
Second place in the 100-meter dash went to Karla Ángeles Lobato, while second place nationally in the high jump went to Jesús Silva Álvarez and Francisco Javier Guevara Delgado.
Also, second place nationally in the shot put went to Alondra Rodríguez Olvera and Juan Jesús Javier Méndez Vázquez.
In declamation, we obtained second place nationally with Gladys Arely Hernández de la Rosa and third place nationally in Folkloric Dance.
This was the outstanding participation of UTM students in the XXIII National Sports and Cultural Encounter 2019, competitions that took place in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.
In other information, the UT Matamoros rector also said that last April 12 and also in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua participated in the National Meeting of UT Rectors 2019.
In which participated Herminio Baltazar, General Coordinator of Technological and Polytechnic Universities in the country, Dr. Raul Martinez, rector of the UT of Torreon and President of the National Association of Technological Universities, as well as the host, Master Guillermo Alvarez Terrazas, rector of the UT of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.
He concluded by saying that the meeting addressed issues of utmost importance for 2019.
