UTM STUDENTS MAKE ONE-TWO IN THE NATIONAL ROBOTICS TOURNAMENT.

Once again, students from the UT Matamoros put the name of Tamaulipas on high, as they placed as Champion of Champions in the National Robotics Tournament Vex Robotics Competition «In the Zone» organized by the company REEDUCA, which took place on March 12 and 13 in Leon, Guanajuato.

UT Matamoros Rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, said that these young students competed with 40 teams from different universities in the country, «our young people stood out in each of the categories, they won in each one of them,» she said.
Hence the pronouncement of Champion of Champions and that they have earned their direct pass to the Robotics World Cup to be held in April in the city of Louisville, Kentucky.

This group of students who once again put the name of UT Matamoros and all of Tamaulipas on high are: Erick Guajardo, David Cantú, David Padrón and Armando Tinoco, who will make their trip for the second consecutive time to Louisville, Kentuky, as it must be remembered that in 2017 they also achieved this feat.

President Bermea Vázquez also congratulated the second UTM team that also participated in the National Robotics Tournament Vex Robotics Competition, «who were runners-up in this same competition, which means that the two UT Matamoros teams came in first and second place nationally.
This team is formed by Hector Gutierrez, Nahum Cruz, Pavel Rangel, Armando Garizurieta and Jared Garcia.

«That is why we are very proud of our young students, because in every academic, technological or cultural competition they place in the first places as it happened today in this National Robotics Tournament Vex Robotics Competition,» she expressed.

This speaks of the effort, passion, commitment and good academic level of UT Matamoros, «which today occupies first place nationally as the best Technological University in the country, an appointment recently awarded by the National Association of Technological Universities in Mexico».

It is also important to highlight the dedication and commitment of our teachers who have been working with the Robotics clubs, Ricardo Treviño Parras and Esteban Lerma Puente, she concluded.
