UTM STUDENTS CREATE MURALS WITH MESSAGES ALLUDING TO THE PRACTICE OF VALUES.

In order to promote the practice of values among preschool students, students of the UT Matamoros painting club developed the «Painting Hope» program through which they are attending several kindergartens, both in rural and urban areas, to create murals with images and messages about the practice of values and even about the care of the environment.

Beatriz Yarritu Saeb, director of academic connection at UT Matamoros, said that these murals are made by young people from this university center, led by the painting teacher, Professor Azael Sosa.

«They have already started with kindergartens in the ejido communities near UT Matamoros and will soon continue with other schools located in neighborhoods also near UTM,» he said.

The idea is to reach 18 schools, including kindergartens and elementary schools near UT Matamoros, promoting the practice of values and care for the environment through the realization of these murals, he concluded.
