UTM PRESENTS A KEYNOTE LECTURE «STRONG YOUNG PEOPLE IN DIFFICULT TIMES» BY CARLOS CUAUHTÉMOC SÁNCHEZ
With writer Carlos Cuauhtémoc Sánchez, more than 5 thousand young people attended a successful conference organized by the Technological University of Matamoros.
In the presence of the Secretaries of Social Development in Tamaulipas, Homero de la Garza Tamez; of Economic Development and Tourism, Monica Gonzalez Garcia and the Rector Jose Antonio Tovar Lara, the Technological University of Matamoros presented with great success the Mexican writer Carlos Cuauhtemoc Sanchez, who presented the conference «Strong young people in difficult times», before the attendance of more than 5 thousand students from elementary, middle and high school levels.
The Multidisciplinary Gymnasium was at maximum capacity with the attendance of students and directors of elementary, middle, high school and high school institutions, as well as representatives of the civil association, who attended to witness the exhibition of the writer with more book sales in Mexico and who is considered a cultural guide in Latin America.
The event was also attended by the Secretary of Social Development, Luis Alfredo Biassi, representing the Municipal President, Leticia Salazar Vázquez; maquiladora businessmen, members of the Special Events Committee, among other personalities.
José Antonio Tovar Lara welcomed the Secretary of Social Development in Tamaulipas, as well as the more than 5 thousand attendees, to whom he said that the Technological University of Matamoros works permanently in the integral development of its students by presenting conferences of great importance such as that of Carlos Cuauhtémoc Sánchez, an invitation that is extended to students at the elementary, high school and college levels.
I am very pleased to see so many children and young people interested in this conference «Strong youth in difficult times» by a writer of great trajectory, such as Carlos Cuauhtémoc, who has placed his books «Juventud en Extasis», «Sangre de Campeón», «Los ojos de mi princesa», «Volar sobre el pantano», among many other works, in the first places of sales.
Homero de la Garza Tamez also delivered a message in which he emphasized that Carlos Cuauhtémoc’s lecture is an excellent approach to what must be done to remain and to transcend in life.
And our friend, Carlos Cuauhtémoc, encourages us – as has been the tone of his conferences – to make every moment, even complex and adverse moments, a time to produce, to influence, to communicate, a time to win.
The Secretary of Social Development in Tamaulipas thanked the invitation to be in this meeting with the youth of Matamoros «it is a privilege to attend with the honorable representation of the Governor of the State Egidio Torre Cantu; I want to tell you that young people like you, not only give a new face to the municipality but also give a new heart to Matamoros and Tamaulipas, because all deep and lasting transformations come from the hand of you. You, the young people, are a transforming reality and our best hope for a more just and prosperous future».
With heart and dedication, let’s go together to continue building the human Tamaulipas that we all want, the strong Tamaulipas that works for you and that your families deserve,» he concluded.
At the end of the conference, Homero de la Garza Tamez, Mónica González García and José Antonio Tovar Lara presented an award to Carlos Cuauhtémoc Sánchez for his contribution to the improvement of young people and the strengthening of family values.
