UTM OFFERS CHRISTMAS POSADA TO CHILDREN IN EJIDO COMMUNITIES
Moments of joy and happiness were experienced by more than 200 children from preschool and elementary schools located in the Guadalupe and Las Rusias ejidos, during the Christmas posada offered by the Technological University of Matamoros on the eve of the arrival of Christmas.
Early in the morning, the students of the «Lázaro Campos Garza» Kindergarten, located in the Guadalupe ejido, accompanied by their mothers and teachers, arrived at the cultural area of the Vinculación building where they were warmly received by UTM personnel, headed by the Rector of the institution, Mr. José Antonio Tovar Lara.
Next, students from «Guadalupe Victoria» elementary school, also from the Guadalupe ejido, arrived at UTM, accompanied by their teachers and the school’s principal, Rosa Isela Garza García; later on, students from «Gral. Emiliano Zapata» elementary school from the Las Rusias ejido were also welcomed.
And with all the guests present, the Christmas party began with the arrival of Santa Claus who, carrying his sack full of gifts, brought smiles of happiness among the little guests.
There was a children’s show with characters from Disney movies, Sesame Street, among others, who organized dances and contests that were enjoyed by the children.
At the end of the Christmas party, which included a toy for each child, juices, cake, and piñatas, the young guests participated in a tour of the institution.
With great admiration, the preschool and elementary school students observed each of the buildings that the University has; they also knew the classrooms of the different modules of the institution and also lived with some of the students of the different careers.
The whole tour was accompanied by Santa Claus and by UTM management personnel, who answered each of the questions asked by the visitors.
Around 12:00 pm, the students, teachers and directors of the visiting schools returned to their institutions, but not before thanking the Technological University of Matamoros for the nice pre-Christmas celebration.
