UTM INSTALLS THE LINKAGE AND RELEVANCE COUNCIL

This Thursday morning, the Technological University of Matamoros installed its Linkage and Relevance Council, made up of representatives from the governmental, productive and social sectors, whose objectives include strengthening the institution’s scientific, technological and innovation capabilities and ensuring that they benefit the development of the region.
As of Thursday, José Antonio Tovar Lara, rector of UTM, will serve as president of the Council, while Javier Lozano Garza, manager of the company INTEVA, has been appointed technical secretary.
Other members of the Council are: Manuel García Garza, Secretary of Economic Development and Employment Promotion in the municipality; Marcos Cantú Puga, Director of Education in the municipality; Mario Ramírez Andrade, President of COPARMEX; Mario Humberto Romo Uribe, Regional Coordinator of the National Employment Service, Matamoros unit; Rocío Alvizo Gutiérrez, representative of the Maquiladora Association; Sonia Arrazolo, from the company Invensys, among other personalities.
During the meeting, a brief summary was given of the academic and technological achievements of the Technological University of Matamoros, among them, the accreditations and certifications by the ISO 9001: 2008 standard; by the Consejo de Acreditación de la Enseñanza de la Ingeniería A.C. (CACEI); by the Comité Institucional para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior, A.C. (CIEES); by the Consejo de Acreditación en la Enseñanza de la Contaduría y Administración A.C. (CACECA). (CACECA); by Icarnegie; by TOEFL, Microsoft, among others.
The rector of the institution also explained to the councilors that next September, when the new term begins, the Technological University of Matamoros will serve more than 2,500 students, which represents a very significant increase in enrollment compared to previous years.
The Board members listened and expressed their desire to actively participate in each of the projects promoted by the institution, since it is of great relevance for Matamoros and for Tamaulipas to have an institution that is contributing to the economic development of the region by preparing the professionals demanded by the productive sector.
