UTM FACULTY MEMBER WINS STATE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP.
The Department of State through the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) recently invited UT Matamoros professor Mayra Selene to participate in this most important professional exchange in the United States.
Alejandro Fernandez Sandoval, head of the Business Incubator Program at UT Matamoros, said that Professor Mayra Selene is currently visiting several states in the United States.
He explained that this is a scholarship granted by the State Department to young students and professionals who wish to enrich their knowledge based on their profile. On this occasion, the scholarship holders will enrich their knowledge in Science and Technology and Mathematics Development, a profile that our UT Matamoros teacher meets.
Due to the great impulse that our university offers today, and even more, in the development of Science and Technology, the State Department granted a scholarship to our teacher for further training based on her profile, presenting her in companies of the American Union for her training and development.
During this professional exchange, which is attended by young professionals from Central and South America, the participants exchange experiences and enrich their knowledge through visits to various states in the United States, experience and knowledge that they will later pass on to their students, with the firm purpose of continuing to offer quality education.
