UTM 5K RACE A SUCCESS
More than 500 students from the Technological University of Matamoros, Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros, participated in the 5K athletic race «Running for Education» to celebrate the XXV anniversary of the creation of the Technological Universities in the country.
UTM’s rector, José Antonio Tovar Lara, promoted this important race, which was part of the celebrations organized at a national level, with the participation of thousands of students from all over the country, during a simultaneous event held 0n June 19 at 7:30 am.
The athletic race, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of offering quality higher education, also encouraged the promotion of a culture of health care and family unity.
The students of the UTM enthusiastically participated in this celebration wearing a green t-shirt with a lion, which symbolizes the mascot of this important educational institution in Matamoros and Tamaulipas.
It is important to mention that this event also received the participation of the students’ families, teachers, administrative personnel and the community in general, who enjoyed a joyful, festive and safe Sunday as they walked through some of the main streets of Matamoros, including the Rio Bravo riverbank that joins this border with Brownsville, Texas.
