UT MATAMOROS RECTOR PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION CONGRESS IN CUBA
The rector of the Technological University of Matamoros («UT Matamoros»), Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, participated in the International Congress on Higher Education 2018, which was held in Cuba.
Her participation is due to the invitation made by the Ministry of Education in Cuba, so that the UT Matamoros rector participated in the Forum of Policies and Programs towards Democratization and Social Inclusion in Higher Education.
It was a very interesting forum, she said, because we presented to education representatives from other countries the successful educational model of Technological Universities that exist in our country.
We had the opportunity, she added, to exchange ideas with university rectors from South America, Central America and Europe and to reach certain agreements regarding the mobility of students and teachers.
In fact, she said, two universities, one from Chile and another from Colombia, came to Mexico to learn about our educational models in Technological Universities like ours.
The link we have with the business sector, where nine out of ten students, by the time they graduate with us, practically already belong to the business sector, attracted a lot of attention. Developing their own projects in each specialty.
It was also enriching for us, she said, to continue learning from the pedagogical techniques they have in that country, such as the training of their teaching staff and the degree of research they carry out, this being an area of opportunity to strengthen the ties of collaboration with other technological universities in the world.
