UT MATAMOROS RECTOR MET WITH STUDENTS TO ANNOUNCE NEW TRANSPORTATION ROUTES

With the firm purpose of supporting the family economy, the rector’s office of the Technological University of Matamoros (Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros, UTM), created new routes for its school transportation so that its students can save the cost of paying for a bus or cab.
Mr. Flavio Hinojosa Alvarez said that previously there were specific points where school transportation was waiting for students to arrive, but now with the creation of these new routes, the units are practically located closer to their homes.
For example, he said, previously there was only one unit very close to a shopping center on Lauro Villar Avenue and Manuel Cavazos Lerma extension, but now with the creation of new routes, we have another unit at the entrance to Colonia Tecnológico and another one at the entrance to Fraccionamiento Ciudad Industrial.
Also previously, he added, we only had one unit at Cavazos Lerma and Pedro Cárdenas, but now with these new routes, we have a unit at the entrance to the Section 16 neighborhood.
«Without neglecting the specific points with which we had been working previously,» he clarified.
By creating these new routes, many of our young students no longer have to pay for a bus or cab to take them to the Manuel Cavazos Lerma and Pedro Cárdenas units, but now they have a unit closer to their homes and it takes them to the Technological University of Matamoros.
The UTM rector said that in the case of the young people from Vallehermoso, three units were assigned to that municipality, supporting a total of 250 young people.
«Young people who come and go every day to the city of Vallehermoso. Because they study with us at UTM,» he said.
So by creating these new routes, an initiative that was even the initiative of former rector Ivett Bermea Vázquez, today hundreds of our students will have significant savings for their transportation to this campus because today the units of our University are closer to their homes.
A few blocks away, he concluded.
