UT MATAMOROS RECEIVES THE SEP – ANUT AWARD FOR THE BEST TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN THE COUNTRY

SEP announces development of APP in Matamoros

UT Matamoros receives the SEP – ANUT award for the best technological university in the country.

State Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca is a witness of honor.

With the governor of the State of Matamoros, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, as a witness of honor, the Ministry of Public Education and the National Association of Technological Universities presented the Technological University of Matamoros with the award for the best technological institution in the country, during which important commitments to support universities were also announced.

In a ceremony attended by students, professors, businessmen from the region and representatives from the three levels of government, as well as from universities in the United States, President Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez emphasized that this award belongs to the entire UTM family.

The award was presented by Dr. Salvador Jara Guerrero and the general coordinator of technological and polytechnic universities, Héctor Arriola Soria, as well as the president of ANUT, Raúl Martínez.
The ceremony highlighted the strong support that the Governor of the State is giving to higher education, where his main objective is to have the professionals that the labor field requires in the coming years, so he announced that in coordination with the SEP, will promote a program to make Bilingual, International and Sustainable Universities BIS, throughout the entity.

Investments in the oil industry, where technological innovation is required, are a reality for Tamaulipas, so we must be prepared to not import labor, said the state president, ratifying his support for institutions such as UT Matamoros, which he congratulated for its achievements.

In the presence of senators, federal and local deputies, as well as state secretaries, the undersecretary of higher education, Salvador Jara Guerrero expressed how important it is for the SEP to promote the development of the educational model that the Technological Universities have.
But even more, the good work developed at the UT Matamoros, committed him to return to the campus and give impetus to the development of applications that are being carried out in the institution.

In her message, the rector affirmed that the growth in enrollment, as well as in academic and teaching links, today opens the doors for students to live experiences that enrich their performance in the labor field.

«In 2001 the university started offering 2 Higher University Technician careers, currently there are 8 technical and 6 engineering careers and since the constitution of the University more than 7,500 students have graduated, in the last generation that graduated in April 94% of the graduates are already hired by a company in the region,» she said.

After the presentation of the SEP – ANUT award to the best technological university in the country, the authorities went to the building that houses the technological innovation laboratory to inaugurate it.
