UT MATAMOROS HONORS PROFESSOR JOSÉ LUIS CUELLAR ORNELAS.
Prior to the celebration of the Day of the Dead, a Mexican tradition, the Matamoros Technological University (» Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros») paid a posthumous tribute to the founder and first rector of the university, José Luis Cuellar Ornelas.
As part of the activities that UT Matamoros carries out and prior to the celebration of the Day of the Dead, a tribute was paid to José Luis Cuellar Ornelas, who was the first rector and founder of UT Matamoros. This tribute was attended by personnel from the Red Cross, an institution of which he was a member and served for several years.
His wife, Mrs. Irma Garza de Cuellar, as well as his children José Luis and Brenda, were also present at this tribute.
Flavio Hinojosa Álvarez, UT Matamoros Rector, gave an emotional message to those present, recalling some of the great achievements that Mr. Cuellar Ornelas obtained and that today is a legacy for Matamoros and the region.
