UPPER MIDDLE SCHOOL CONGRATULATES UTM FOR ITS BIS PROJECT

Executives from the different higher education institutions in the region congratulated the rector of the Technological University of Matamoros,(Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros), Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, for the impulse she is giving to this university center, such as its migration to the International and Sustainable Bilingual System.

The shows of support and congratulations were given at a meeting held this Wednesday morning, January 31, at a convention center in the south of the city, between President Bermea Vázquez and the upper secondary school administration.

Dr. Bermea Vázquez informed them that the project to convert the UTM into a bilingual university center will begin this year with the creation of the zero semester in the Mechatronics and International Business Operations careers.

In 2019, two more careers will be added and by 2020, the intention is that all the careers offered here will be offered in English, providing another tool for the young people who will work professionally in the future,» he said.

He said that of the 114 Technological Universities in the country, 25 of them are bilingual, ¨but none of the 5 that we have in Tamaulipas has migrated to the International and Sustainable Bilingual System, none is bilingual, hence the project to migrate to the BIS system, a project that we will start this year¨, she said.

Among the directors who attended the meeting convened by UT Matamoros were the director of CBTis 135, Professor Samuel Alcantar Varela, the director of ITACE, Professor Xavier García Fernández, the director of Conalep, Professor Cruz González García, the director of COBAT 23, Professor Humberto Reyna Sáez, among other high school directors from our region.
