THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF MATAMOROS WINS AGAIN NATIONAL ROBOTICS CHAMPIONSHIP

 

The Technological University of Matamoros once again won the national robotics competition held in Aguascalientes, in which 58 higher education institutions participated, including Technological Universities, Technological Institutes, Polytechnic Universities and private schools.

With this victory, the UTM robotics team wins its pass to the VEX Robotics World Championship Tournament to be held from April 17 to 20, 2013 in Anaheim, California, informed the rector of the institution, José Antonio Tovar Lara.

UTM will once again represent Mexico in the tournament in which teams from all over the world will participate, including the United States of America, New Zealand, Japan, among other countries.

UTM’s robotics team obtained its pass to the world championship after beating the 58 participating institutions in the 3rd Reeduca Vex-Robotics Technological University Championship, winning the Robot Construction category (physical and mechanical assembly), where it demonstrated the advances made by the institution in aspects such as innovation and technological development.

In 2011, this university was also crowned champion in the First National Vex-Robotics Tournament, which gave it access to represent Mexico in the World Tournament held in April of this year in Anaheim, California.

The presentation of awards to the winning teams gathered in Aguascalientes was attended by government authorities; the general coordinator of Technological Universities, Héctor Arreola Soria; Mark Josep de León, Director of Educational Programs at NASA and Francisco Wilson Robles, director of Reeduca, among other personalities.
