UNIVERSIDAD TECNOLOGICA DE MATAMOROS HONORS THE FLAG WITH THE REPRESENTATION OF THE GOVERNOR OF TAMAULIPAS.
With the representation of the Governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca, Dr. María Elena Flores Montalvo, head of Crede in Matamoros, this Monday morning, February 25, led the patriotic honors at the Technological University of Matamoros (Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros, UTM), accompanied by the rector of this educational institution, Mr. Flavio Hinojosa Álvarez and the Municipal Telesecundarias Supervisor, Ms. Yolanda Cárdenas Sánchez.
At the end of the ceremony, the UT Matamoros rector, Flavio Hinojosa Alvarez, thanked the authorities present for their visit, while addressing the students, the rector said that our history is not only an amalgam of historical events, such as Flag Day, but that honoring the flag, he added, is a symbolic act whose meaning is much more profound and essential.
It is the act in which we recognize our identity, assume our values as a nation and reaffirm our commitment to contribute, each one from our own position, to the progress and growth of Mexico,» said Dr. Maria Elena Flores Montalvo.
Dr. María Elena Flores Montalvo congratulated the teaching, student and administrative staff of this university center, «because together they have placed the UTM in first place nationally.
This is a source of pride for all of us and because I know that another of the projects is to convert UTM into a Bilingual University, a project that will result in young people who are better prepared for their professional performance, and even more so if we add a second language to this project, such as Chinese-Mandarin, a project that we are already discussing with the rector.
Finally, Ms. Lidia Salazar Cerda, coordinator of Culture at Crede de Matamoros, presented reading books to the student community of this university center, which were received with pleasure by the students of this campus.
This is how the honors to the patriotic emblem took place at the facilities of the University, a higher education center that houses close to 4 thousand students.
