«THE VOICE UTM» MAKES UTM A SUCCESSFUL SINGING CONTEST

UTM holds a successful singing contest
With great success, the Technological University of Matamoros held the 1st Singing Contest «La Voz UTM», whose purpose was to choose the student who will represent the institution in the XV Regional Sports and Cultural Tournament of the Technological Universities to be held from February 26 to 28 in Linares, Nuevo Leon.
Approximately 30 participants from the morning, intermediate and afternoon shifts showed off their talent by performing different genres that were qualified by the jury composed of UTM’s rector, Mr. José Antonio Tovar Lara, Ms. Leticia Acosta and Prof. Macario Gallegos.
The members of the jury evaluated each of the participants on intonation, intonation, pitch, tessitura and vocal technique, diction and voice modulation, interpretative capacity and stage projection.
The student José Aristides Zapata Rivera, from the Productive Systems Engineering career, was crowned champion in this first contest, thus winning the representation of UTM in the Singing Contest to be held as part of the XV Regional Sports and Cultural Tournament of Technological Universities to be held in Linares, Nuevo León.
Other winners in this contest were: David Israel Carreón Peña; Diana Valdez Corona, Odette Angelina Bolado Rosales, Claudia Raquel Barajas Villarreal and Encarnación Castillo Hernández.
The winners received first, second and third place medals from the members of the jury headed by the UTM Rector.
