THE UTM SEEKS RECERTIFICATION THROUGH CACEI AND ANUIES.
In order to achieve recertification by the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (Anuies acronym in Spanish) as well as by the evaluating body of the Accreditation Council for Engineering Education (Cacei acronym in Spanish), a group of teachers together with the rector of the Technological University of Matamoros (» Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros») are working today to achieve this purpose, since both evaluating bodies will be at UTM in the first days of August to evaluate this institution.
This was informed by UT Matamoros’ rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, who said that both Cacei and Anuies will be in this university center on August 2 and 3 to carry out the evaluation, which is why we continue working these days to ensure that the careers offered by this campus achieve recertification through these evaluating bodies.
With the recertification, he explained, we will be able to obtain more resources from the Federation for the benefit of our campus, as was recently achieved with the State Government for the construction of a teaching building and sports fields that are in process, as well as the creation of a language laboratory that will allow us to continue with the project of turning UTM into an International Bilingual and Sustainable University.
Regarding the Anuies, he said, it is a non-governmental Association of plural character, which brings together the main institutions of higher education in the country, whose common denominator is their willingness to promote their integral improvement in the fields of teaching, research and extension of culture and services.
In the case of Cacei, he explained, it is a non-profit Civil Association and its main objective is, through the accreditation of educational programs in the area of engineering, to promote that higher education institutions offer quality education to future graduates.
