THE UTM CONTINUES WITH ITS ONGOING IMPROVEMENT AND PERFORMS CLEANING ACTIONS IN THE BREAKWATERS.

In order to continue with the continuous improvement and maintain the best academic quality standards, teaching staff of the Technological University of Matamoros ( Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros) participate in the refresher course called «Meaningful Learning, Interactions and Emotions» offered by Dr. Matilda Canudas of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (Anuies).
Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, UT Matamoros rector, said that this refresher course will last 20 hours, which will be divided between Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week.
«So professors from different specialties and subjects will be participating in this course-workshop right here at UTM’s facilities, with the intention of continuing to maintain the best standards of academic quality,» he said.
On the other hand, he also informed that last weekend a group of students, along with a group of teachers, went to Las Escolleras to participate in a cleanup campaign on that coast, receiving great support from the elements of the Naval Military Sector, who supported them with units to collect all the garbage.
This is an action, he said, that our students and teachers have been carrying out both on the Matamoros beach and in Las Escolleras, actions that are in favor of caring for the environment. «In fact, the campaign is called Súmate, where students, teachers and even parents are supporting these actions».
Finally, she reminded that this Saturday, May 5, is the 5 K athletic race promoted by another group of UT Matamoros students, which will take place in the first square of the city starting from the Olympic Park at eight in the morning, «so those interested in participating can still register at the UTM facilities or the same day before the race,» she concluded.
