THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF MATAMOROS WORKS «FOR A GREENER UT».

Students from different careers reforested the green areas of the institution.

In Tamaulipas it is time to take care of our environment, and today the Technological University of Matamoros is working on «For a Greener UT», with the participation of students, teachers and administrative staff.

The rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, led the events around this theme, showing the students of the institution the commitment of the State Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, as well as the Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas, to promote practices to improve the environment.

In this context, the conference «Sustainable Development from a personal perspective» was given by MIA. Irma González Guzmán, in which a large number of young students were present.

In the same way, students from different careers were organized to participate in a reforestation campaign in different areas of the university campus.

In total, students from 19 groups joined together to plant around 21 trees, most of them framboyant, pine, Indian Laurel, among others endemic to the area and that with the necessary care will make the environment at UT a more pleasant area.

The correct placement of garbage, reforestation, the dissemination of good environmental care practices, among other actions that UT Matamoros has undertaken under the rectorship of Dr. Bermea Vázquez, are aimed precisely at taking care of the environment.

«I congratulate all the students who have organized themselves to participate in these activities, we do these actions in order to create awareness with our students, with the teaching staff and that as they rightly say each of us should plant a tree and take care of it, helping our ecosystem,» said the Rector of this house of studies.
