TAMAULIPAS, THE SECOND STATE TO ISSUE BIRTH CERTIFICATES IN BRAILLE.

As a result of the work carried out by Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca and the head of DIF Tamaulipas, Mariana Gómez de García Cabeza de Vaca, the Civil Registry of Tamaulipas will deliver birth certificates in Braille, making Tamaulipas the second entity in the country to offer this type of service.
On November 27, the DIF Tamaulipas System delivered to this institution a Braille printer and three computers with this same system, turning the Civil Registry from that moment on into an inclusive institution.
This action promoted by the state administration also aims to make all those who suffer from any disability, or as in this case a visual impairment, feel part of a society in which no one is discriminated against, but on the contrary seeks to make them feel part of the same.
Braille is a tactile reading and writing system designed for blind people. It is also known as cecography and was devised in the mid-nineteenth century by the Frenchman Louis Braille, who became blind due to an accident during his childhood while playing in his father’s workshop.
The printing of this certificate, which will be done on opaline paper, will have a cost similar to other birth certificates, but to do it in this system requires a printer that is much more complex and expensive.
