Support for Mothers Heads of Households is granted for professional training (Bachelor’s degree and third-level technical training), it is an instrument for single mothers who are heads of household to complete their professional training.

Objective

The objective of this support is to strengthen professional training by obtaining 100% of the academic credits, seeking to facilitate their insertion in the labor market as well as their economic independence.

For whom is it intended?

For single, divorced, widowed or separated Mexican mothers who are pursuing professional studies (technical specialization or third level degree) in public Institutions of Higher Education (IES) belonging to the National Registry of Scientific and Technological Institutions and Companies (RENIECYT) of CONACYT.

How to apply?

The application must be submitted by the IES where the applicant is currently studying.

To submit the application, the IES must request an access code from CONACYT to enter the application and attach the required documentation. The process is carried out exclusively via the internet.

In order for the IES to be able to nominate an applicant, she/he must have previously registered with CONACYT’s Unique Curriculum Vitae (CVU).

A call for applications is published annually, specifying the periods for submitting applications, as well as the necessary documentation and requirements.

Characteristics of the scholarship.

– Duration:

Depending on the time required for the completion of studies, it can be from 1 to 36 months.
– Benefits:

Allocation $ 3,000 monthly plus $ 2,000 each beginning of the academic cycle (Annual).
Medical service provided by the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) during the term of the scholarship with coverage for the scholarship recipient and her children, in accordance with ISSSTE regulations.

Requirements:

To be pursuing undergraduate or third level technical studies to be completed in a maximum period of 36 months.
Have an average of 7.8 in the studies completed and maintain an average of 8.0 during the period covered by the scholarship.
Be a Mexican national, head of household and single mother.

Selection process:

The evaluation process is conducted by CONACYT. The criteria applied by the evaluation committee in the selection of candidates are as follows:

• Background of studies carried out and their performance.
• Economic situation.
• Months required to obtain the total number of credits required by the Study Plan being studied.

Granting of scholarships:

CONACYT will respond according to the times indicated in the calls for applications. Scholarships are approved according to budget availability, respecting the results of the evaluation.

Scholarships will be assigned as of the start date of the school year.
