SUMMER COURSES FOR CHILDREN AT THE UTM ENDED SATISFACTORILY.
The summer courses that the Technological University of Matamoros held during the last days of July and the first days of August ended satisfactorily.
Robotics Course 2018
With a participation of 50 children, divided into two categories; 8 to 12 years old and 13 to 16 years old, the Robotics 2018 summer course concluded satisfactorily, which lasted one week for each category.
During the course, the children were able to acquire basic knowledge about robotics, interact with the parts that make up a robot, controllers, computer programs, as well as the assembly of the robot. At the end of the week, the course ended with a team competition to test the robot built.
Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez congratulated each child who participated in the course and presented them with their respective recognition, extending an invitation to parents to enroll them again next year so that they do not lose interest in this type of technological activities.
Course «Summer in my library».
During the second week of August, ten children participated in the «Summer in my library» course. During the week, the children developed different activities, story reading, drawing and theater.
«Through theater in conjunction with painting, we worked with the children on the importance of protecting the environment, creating characters, which had different functions, in order to demonstrate their interest in protecting our planet. Each of the sessions was enjoyable and the children showed great interest in learning». Added the theater teacher, Jorge Segura.
At the end of the course, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, UTM’s rector, concluded the course by giving recognition to each participating child.
In this way, the summer courses that UTM prepared for the children during the vacation period are successfully concluded, and we hope to have more children participating next year.
