SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

 

2nd International Congress on Applied Science and Technology
UTM brings together researchers from 9 countries.

Scientists and researchers from Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, India, El Salvador, the United States and Mexico were brought together by the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros to participate in the 2nd International Congress of Applied Science and Technology and in the Plenary Forum on Energy and Sustainability organized to contribute to the development of the region, in the formation of human capital and in accordance with the actions promoted by the energy agenda of the governor of Tamaulipas, Egidio Torre Cantú.

At this important event presided by the rector of UTM, José Antonio Tovar Lara, the Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism in Tamaulipas, Mónica González García, attended with the representation of the Governor of the State; there were also present: José María Leal Gutiérrez, head of the State Energy Agency; José Luis Hernández Castrellón, Mayor of Valle Hermoso; María Esther Camargo Félix, federal congresswoman-elect; Francisco Hernández Montemayor, General Director of Cotacyt; José Alfredo Merinos, Director of Operations of Grupo R, among others.

Addressing her message on behalf of the Governor of Tamaulipas, the head of Sedet, Monica Gonzalez Garcia said that innovation, research, and technology transfer are fundamental factors in the development and through events such as the Congress organized by Universidad Tecnologica de Matamoros allows society as a whole to have access to knowledge and the various advances in technology.

He added that the government policies that Egidio Torre Cantu has been promoting during his administration and the competitive conditions that the state has, have generated the arrival of new investments and consolidated Tamaulipas in a better position within the dynamics of the most advanced sectors of the international economy.

González García then congratulated Universidad Tecnologica de Matamoros for holding such an important event, bringing together scientists and researchers from various parts of the world.

For his part, UTM Rector José Antonio Tovar Lara thanked the hundreds of participants in the Congress, including businessmen, researchers, professors, directors of educational institutions, professionals, students from different careers, children with high IQ and civil society from Tamaulipas, from different parts of the country and abroad who gathered to witness the meeting of scientists and researchers organized by the Universidad Tecnologica de Matamoros.

In his message, he said that the topics presented at the Congress will strengthen the competitive capacity by promoting human capital formation, economic development and social integration in the northeastern region of Mexico, and thanked the speakers for sharing their knowledge with the attendees.
Tovar Lara also thanked the national and international institutions that participated in the 2nd Congress, such as the Universities of Artemisa and Cienfuegos of Cuba, the Alamo Community College of San Antonio, Comimsa and Cinvestav of Saltillo and Merida, Grupo R, Ciimar-Gomc, Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco, as well as Cotacyt-Fordecyt.
