«QUERÉTARO 2013 » NATIONAL SPORTS AND CULTURAL MEETING OF TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITIES
A total of 100 students from the Technological University of Matamoros in different sports disciplines will participate in the XVII National Sports and Cultural Meeting of Technological and Polytechnic Universities «Queretaro 2013» from March 21 to 24.
The baseball, men’s and women’s fast soccer, basketball and women’s volleyball teams won their pass to the national meeting after facing teams from different universities in Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon during the Regional Sports Meeting of Technological Universities «Matamoros 2013» held in this city from February 7 to 9.
UTM Rector, José Antonio Tovar Lara said that the university will also participate in the national meeting with outstanding athletes in Athletics, Chess and Tae Kwon Do, disciplines in which students have won gold medals in different national and international tournaments.
He commented that this type of sports meetings that promote the integral development of the students, also allow the strengthening of bonds of brotherhood among the students of the different Technological and Polytechnic Universities from all over the country.
And one of the primary values of the Technological Universities is to train high-quality professionals with commitment and responsibility that put the name of the institutions on high and our students added, they strive academically and also do so in each of the sporting and cultural events, putting the name of UTM on high.
