OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION OF UTM STUDENTS IN THE XIX REGIONAL SPORTS AND CULTURAL MEETING OF TECHNOLOGICAL AND POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITIES 2018.
Outstanding participation was obtained by UTM students in the XIX Regional Sports and Cultural Meeting of Technological and Polytechnic Universities 2018, which took place on February 21, 22 and 23 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
The young student Luis Enrique Rivas Larrazolo won first place in the discipline of public speaking, while the student Karem Walle took first place in the discipline of mural on chalk, also highlighting the great participation of the Folkloric Dance group to obtain the first place.
Second place went to the basketball, volleyball and girls’ softball teams, while the boys’ baseball team placed third. And a third place in singing.
It is important to inform that in this XIX Regional Sports and Cultural Meeting of Technological and Polytechnic Universities 2018 participated Technological Universities from the municipalities of Ciudad Victoria, Altamira, Soto la Marina, Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo, Linares, Escobedo, Santa Catarina, Ramos Arizpe and Saltillo.
For this reason, the UT Matamoros Rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, congratulated this delegation of students who once again put the name of UTM on high, outstanding young people who today are preparing for the National Meeting of Technological and Polytechnic Universities 2018 to be held in March in the city of Guadalajara.
It is also important to highlight the first place obtained by the young student Luis Angel Ortega in the Mental Calculation contest also held in the city of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and the third place in this same competition obtained by the young Carlos Enrique Garcia.
All of the above reaffirms the excellent academic, cultural and sports level that the UT Matamoros has today, under the tutelage of the rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez.
