MÓNICA GONZÁLEZ GARCÍA: GODMOTHER OF HIGHER UNIVERSITY TECHNICIANS AND ENGINEERING GENERATIONS AT THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF MATAMOROS

 

The Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism of the Government of Tamaulipas, Mónica González García, sponsored the XXIII and XXIV HUT and IV Engineering Generations of the Technological University of Matamoros, during a lucid ceremony presided over by the rector of the institution, José Antonio Tovar Lara, in which more than 900 graduates and their families participated.

During the brilliant ceremony, the godmother of the Technical University and Engineering graduates called on the graduates to make the completion of their studies the beginning of a successful trajectory that will serve as a platform for them to continue preparing themselves, their families and Matamoros.

The presidium included: Mónica González García, godmother of the graduating class; UTM’s rector, José Antonio Tovar Lara; Javier Lozano Garza, manager of INTEVA and president of the Matamoros Technological University’s Linkage and Relevance Committee; Guillermo Lash de la Fuente, president of Canacintra; Juan Villafuerte Morales, member of UTM’s Board of Directors.

Also present were: Jesus Juan de la Garza Diaz del Guante, administrative manager of the Matamoros Integral Port Administration; Jose Luis Cuellar Ornelas, representative of Dr.. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez, Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas; Manlio Iván Villar Martínez, regional coordinator of the COBAT; Inés López de León, director of COBAT 20; Humberto Reyna Sáenz, director of CEMSADET- Moquetito; Ismael Colmenero Lucio, director of Conalep Plantel Matamoros; Omar Abid Masso Quintana, director of ITACE; José Flores Ramírez, director of Municipal Education and Emeterio García Castillo, director of CAR Matamoros.

In this context, the UTM Rector addressed a message in which he congratulated the young graduates because from today they join the productive sector of the entity and with their effort, work and commitment they will actively contribute to achieve the horizon of the prosperity of Tamaulipas.

He added, and I am very proud to say, that more than 80 percent of the engineering students who are graduating today are already working in the productive sector in jobs related to their specialty; you are joining the productive sector with a high-quality preparation at the Technological University of Matamoros, endorsed by accreditations, certifications and national and international recognition.

By specialized external organizations such as CIEES, CACEI, CACECA, CONAIC, AENOR, MICROSOFT, ICARNIGIE, NATIONAL INSTRUMENT and Vex Robotics, which by the way he added, in recent days our university representing Mexico won third place in the world robotics championship held in Hawaii 2014.

Tovar Lara also mentioned that UTM continues to grow and for the third consecutive year reached the first place in enrollment at the state level of Technological and Polytechnic Universities; in fact, he added, in the coming days we will be inaugurating a new laboratory building and the acquisition of new high-tech equipment with an investment of 30 million pesos.

Egidio Torres Cantú will also deliver a 2015 Volvo bus to UTM for student field trips, «this is part of the support that Governor Egidio Torre Cantú is giving to the Technological University of Matamoros».

Through you, Monica, please convey to the Governor our gratitude for his absolute support to this university because we have in him a great promoter of education, science and technology; and to you, Monica, I thank you for space you made in your agenda to participate as godmother of these three generations and this is an opportunity to recognize your work as head of the Secretariat of Economic Development and Tourism of the state government, where you have supported our young people with programs to promote entrepreneurship and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. And to all of you, thank you for trusting in our university», concluded Tovar Lara in his message.
