THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF MATAMOROS CELEBRATES THE GRADUATION OF THE XVII AND XVIII GENERATIONS OF HIGHER UNIVERSITY TECHNICIANS

 

The Technological University of Matamoros celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Generation of University Technicians, where Mr. Raul Cesar Gonzalez Garcia, Secretary of Labor of the Government of Tamaulipas, acted as Godfather, an event held in the framework of the Tenth Anniversary of the UTM and the Twentieth Anniversary of the Technological Universities in Mexico.

José Antonio Tovar Lara, rector of UTM, welcomed each of the guests to the ceremony, among them: the godfather of the graduating class, Mr. Raúl César González García; Mr. Marcos Cantú Puga, personal representative of the Municipal President, Mr. Alfonso Sánchez Garza.

Local Congressman Daniel Sampayo Sánchez, representative of Prof. Guadalupe Flores Valdéz, President of the Political Coordination Board of the Congress of Tamaulipas; local Congressmen Rosa Isela Arizoca and Carlos Valenzuela Valadez.

He also welcomed Mrs. Sonia Mercado Rodríguez, rector of the Polytechnic University of the Ribereña Region, representative of the Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas, Dr. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez and the Undersecretary of Education, Mr. Luis Felipe Alcocer.

Eliezer Reinhardt Escala, president of Canacintra and UTM advisor; Juan Villafuerte Morales, general secretary of the Matamoros Regional Federation of Workers; and Prof. Rosalinda Rojas Vega, representative of Profr. Francisco Sánchez Salazar, head of the Regional Center for Educational Development in Matamoros.

In this context and after handing out certificates accrediting the graduates as Higher University Technicians in the careers of Tariff Classification, Industrial Processes, Electrical Installations, Maintenance and Mechanics – automation area-, the Godfather of the two Generations, Mr. Raul Cesar Gonzalez Garcia said «when we talk about quality education we are talking about the Technological University of Matamoros».

An exemplary institution that works with care, training talents, cultivating values and strengthening our human capital, he added.

And in addressing the young people, he called on them to develop their ingenuity, talent, and potential starting today.

In Tamaulipas, he said, we trust you, that is why the Government of Engineer Egidio Torre Cantú, is concerned that our young people get better training and more knowledge every day so that in the future they will have better-paid jobs.

Young graduates of these Seventeenth and Eighteenth generations, I urge you to go in search of new goals and broader horizons; you have everything to do it, you are a genuine example of effort, hope and improvement, he concluded.

José Antonio Tovar Lara addressed the Secretary of Labor in Tamaulipas, Mr. Raúl César González García to express «our gratitude to the Governor of the State, Mr. Egidio Torre Cantú, for having recently allocated 18 million pesos for the construction of a high-tech laboratory in mechatronics and electronics for our Technological University of Matamoros».

After congratulating the young graduates and the parents for encouraging and supporting their children, Tovar Lara told the Secretary of Labor that 75 percent of the students who graduated as a Higher University Technician already have a job in the productive sector.

I also take this opportunity to mention that last Wednesday the Secretary of Education in the State, Dr. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez, presented this university with the accreditation recognition granted by the external evaluation body CACECA.

This is in addition to other accreditations from CACEI and CIEES, being ours the only Technological University in the State with academic plans and programs evaluated and accredited by external organizations, he added.

Finally, he invited the graduates to continue striving to achieve their goals and to realize their most cherished dreams, step by step.
