MASTER CONFERENCE «THE NEW ROLES OF UNIVERSITIES OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF TEXAS AND THE BORDER».
As part of the good results obtained after the signing of an agreement between the UT Matamoros and Laredo Community College, a great conference was recently offered by Laredo Community College President Ricardo Solis to UTM professors, entitled «The New Functions of Technological Universities in the Economic Development of Texas and the Border».
Flavio Hinojosa Alvarez, president of UT Matamoros, said that the great conference, which was directed to all the teachers of the campus, was offered last week in the facilities of this university center, as part of the signing of this agreement that took place at the beginning of last year.
On other occasions, he said, UTM students have visited Laredo Community College to participate in various activities of that American community, highlighting the various English courses and updating courses for teachers in the area of engineering and computer systems.
In other information, the UT Matamoros rector also said that recently the awards were presented to teachers who were certified in some of the modalities of the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT), developed by Cambridge Assessment English.
Thus, with these recognitions UTM teachers accredit their pedagogical knowledge for teaching English, which guarantees that at UTMBIS our teachers meet the profile to provide their classes with the highest standard of preparation in their area and that they continue to improve in offering their students a better quality education.
At the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros in its Bilingual, International and Sustainable modality, he said, it is confirmed that its human capital is the most important element that this institution has, «so we thank the teachers for continuing to improve themselves and put their best efforts in continuous improvement,» he concluded.
