“Little Explorers” Science Week

With the participation of more than 1200 children.
Last April, the UTM participated in the KIDS Science Week “Little Explorers”, led by the Secretary of Education of Tamaulipas and the Tamaulipas Council of Science and Technology.

The main objective of this program is to encourage early scientific vocations, through talks and workshops, which are taught by young researchers and teachers, in order for our children to interact directly with the world of science.

This great event was attended by more than 1200 children from different local institutions. During this week the little ones had the opportunity to learn about Dinosaurs and Paleontology, Astronomy and Space, Human Body and Biology, Natural Sciences and Wildlife, Small Entrepreneurs, Technology and Innovation and Physics-Chemistry and Experiments.

The kick-off of this week was in charge of Dr. Julio Martínez Burnes, General Director of COTACYT and Diana Masso Quintana, Rector of UTMatamoros, who expressed her great pride that young people from #UTM are the main promoters of science, technology and innovation in the region, thus reaffirming the commitment of the university community with society.

The Universidad Tecnologica de Matamoros thanks all the institutions and companies that joined this great project, especially the Natural History Museum of the Cultural Center of Nuevo Laredo with its exhibition Tierra de Dinosaurios, Aguas el Duque, Coca-Cola, HEB, Mi Tiendita del Ahorro, Grupo Lobo and the other educational institutions.
