Lighting up the Christmas Tree

UTMatamoros shines with its own light this Christmas season! With great joy and a contagious festive spirit, we celebrated the successful Christmas Tree Lighting, marking the official start of the festivities at our beloved university.
In an atmosphere full of laughter, music and camaraderie, Diana Masso Quintana, our Rector, shared an emotional message with the entire university community. She wished health, peace, love and family harmony in each of our homes, highlighting the values that unite us as lions.
The lighting of the Christmas tree was in charge of Ms. Lucia Aime Castillo Pastor, Secretary of Education of Tamaulipas, accompanied by Ms. Olga Sosa, Secretary of Labor in Tamaulipas, Ms. Diana Masso Quintana, Rector of UTMatamoros, Congressman Beto Granados and Mr. Saul Gilberto Barajas, Director of Middle and Higher Education of Matamoros.
Before starting, students, teachers, directors and administrative staff attended the Christmas concert by the Colegio San Juan Siglo XXI, as well as the participation of cheerleaders, bastoneras and the school’s marching band.
In this festive spirit, we would like to make a recommendation: let us take advantage of this time to reflect on the year that is about to end, value our experiences and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a community. May solidarity and fellowship accompany us not only during Christmas, but throughout the coming year.
We appreciate the active participation of each and every one of you, contributing to make this event a special moment. May harmony and joy continue to fill our hearts during this Christmas season.
May the Christmas magic continue to shine at UTMatamoros!
