ITABEC awards 800 scholarships to Students

With the objective of supporting young people from Tamaulipas to continue and complete their university studies, the State Government, through the Ministry of Education of Tamaulipas and the Tamaulipas Institute of Scholarships, Incentives and Educational Credits (ITABEC), delivered 800 “Future Tamaulipas Scholarships” to students of the Technological University of Matamoros (UTM).

The delivery of the educational incentives took place in an official ceremony headed by Dr. Juan Guillermo Mansur Arzola, Director of ITABEC, who emphasized that this type of action is an example of the commitment of the Governor of the State of Tamaulipas, Dr. Américo Villarreal Anaya, to offer young people from Tamaulipas more and better educational opportunities.

A total of 800 students benefited from an individual scholarship of 2,500 pesos, which will cover the period from September to December 2024. With an investment of two million pesos, with the purpose of contributing to the support of students and prevent them from dropping out of higher education.

During the event, Diana Masso Quintana, president of the Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros, expressed her deep gratitude for the support received from the State Government. She recognized the tireless work done by Dr. Américo Villarreal Anaya to transform education in Tamaulipas, stressing that this type of scholarships represent one more step towards building a better future for the students of the institution.

“The work between the State Government and UTM allows our students to move forward with their dreams and academic goals. This scholarship is a sign that, with effort and support, we can guarantee them a more promising future,” commented the rector.

The Instituto Tamaulipeco de Becas, Estímulos y Créditos Educativos (ITABEC) is an institution of the Government of Tamaulipas in charge of offering support programs to higher education students, with the objective of reducing school dropout rates and promoting access to and permanence in higher education in the state.
