The State Government, through the Director of the National Sports Institute in Tamaulipas, Carlos Fernandez Altamirano, delivered sports equipment to the students of Universidad Tecnologica de Matamoros who will participate in the National Cultural and Sports Meeting of Technological Universities in the country to be held from April 12 to 14 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.

This was informed by UTM’s rector, Mr. Flavio Hinojosa Álvarez, who said that this delegation of 80 students will participate in volleyball, soccer, baseball for men and women, athletics and also in folkloric dance, chalk mural, singing, declamation and public speaking.

«After obtaining the first places at regional level, this gave them the pass to participate in the National Cultural and Sports Meeting of Technological Universities in the country and we believe that they will also do well in this National meeting, because last year they won first place in folkloric dance and first place in mural in chalk», he added.

Before the director of the National Sports Institute in Tamaulipas, Carlos Fernández Altamirano, delivered the sports equipment to the delegation of students participating in this national meeting, they were given two motivational conferences by Esmeralda Rodríguez and Diana Álvarez Trejo, the first to win three gold medals in Aeronman and the second two gold medals in weightlifting, both from Matamoros.

Also in the interview, the UTM Rector said that the State Government continues with the construction of a module of didactic classrooms, 12 in total, and the paving of a parking lot at the back of the University Center, works that could be completed before July of this year.
