HIGHER UNIVESRITY TECHNICIANS IN MAINTENANCE, PETROLEUM AREA RECEIVE RIG PASS COURSE IN INDUSTRIAL SAFETY.

On November 27, 28 and 29, students from the career of Higher University Technicians in Maintenance Petroleum area received the Rig Pass training course.

Continuing with the preparation that UT Matamoros provides to its students, on this occasion, the students from this career benefited from the Rig Pass course.

Rig Pass is a course endorsed by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) for companies, organizations and the general public, in any area and/or career that wishes to work in the oil industry.

The RIG PASS (passport to equipment) is a course that PEMEX introduced to Mexico in 1999 as its minimum safety standard, since then the company has struggled to get all its employees and contractors to work under the RIG PASS program, at least in the areas of oil well drilling.

By its nature, the RIG PASS is a basic theoretical safety course, however, it is recommended that some topics include practical exercises such as the use of SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) as well as CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), as part of First Aid.

In this way, UT Matamoros Rector Flavio Hinojosa Alvarez reiterates his commitment to the entire student community of this institution, and that in due time all the careers will benefit, in order to graduate more prepared and highly competitive students in the labor sector.
