GENERATIONS OF UNIVERSITY TECHNICIAN AND ENGINEERING GRADUATES OF UTM ARE SPONSORED BY MÓNICA GONZÁLEZ GARCÍA

 

«Like you, I am a product of the culture of tenacity and self-improvement through learning, and I am convinced that you will be successful men and women, with the knowledge, skills, talent and vocation that characterizes the students of the Technological University of Matamoros,» said Monica Gonzalez Garcia as she participated as godmother of the XXV and XXVI generations of University Technician and V of Engineering of this important educational institution.

In the presence of UTM’s Rector, José Antonio Tovar Lara, the Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism of Tamaulipas said she was proud to be the godmother of more than 950 graduates, «I feel excited to share the satisfaction and joy they feel when they reach this moment; in each graduation, I see a professional project, a personal life plan and a dream to follow».

The presidium at the graduation ceremony was made up of: the godmother of the three generations of TSU and Engineering; José Antonio Tovar Lara, UTM’s rector; Vilma García de Seguy, the personal representative of the Governor of Tamaulipas, Mr. Egidio Torre Cantú; and Congressman Marco Antonio Silva Hermosillo, representative of the Congress of Tamaulipas.

Also were present: José Luis Cuellar Ornelas, representing Dr. Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez, Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas; the president of Canacintra, Valentín Contreras Mejía; Lic. Jorge Cardenas Gutierrez; Fabian Vazquez Ortiz, representative of the head of SET in Tamaulipas; Omar Masso Quintana, director of ITACE; Ismael Colmenero Lucio, director of Conalep; Humberto Reyna Saenz, director of CEMSADET and Ines Lopez de Leon, director of COBAT 20.

In her message, the godmother of the graduates called on them to continue to be enthusiastic, creative, enterprising and, above all, eager to enter the field that will give them the opportunity to be happy. She also congratulated the UTM rector for leading one of the most prestigious institutions in Matamoros and Tamaulipas.

For his part, the rector of the Technological University of Matamoros addressed Monica Gonzalez Garcia to thank her for her participation as godmother of the Higher Superior Technicians and Engineering generations and asked her to be the conduit to send an affectionate greeting to the Governor of Tamaulipas, Egidio Torre Cantu, who has always given unconditional support to the institution.

In his message, Tovar Lara emphasized that each of the actions carried out in the last eight years has been in congruence with the State Development Plan, and seeking the highest quality in the development of academic programs, great goals have been achieved, such as having the most complete laboratories equipped with the latest technology in the state, installing the first photovoltaic park in the region and having started the Petroleum Area Maintenance career.

He also mentioned that this year the internationalization program has been strengthened, with UTM students attending Lorrein University in France, Riviere de Loup in Canaá, the University of Burgas in Bulgaria, the University of Artemisa in Cuba, as well as various universities in the United States.

The UTM rector also referred to the certifications and accreditations; to the robotics, lean manufacturing, science and technology, war bands, and acrobatic animation championships, among other achievements of the young people of this educational institution.

Therefore, the Governor of the State of Tamaulipas, Mr. Egidio Torre Cantu said during his last visit to the Universidad Tecnologica de Matamoros, «this is a university of winners and without a doubt, it is among the best in Tamaulipas». He then wished the greatest professional success to the graduates.
