ECOES 2024
The Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros (UTMatamoros) was the venue for the celebration of the Common Space for Higher Education (ECOES) 2024 meeting, an event that was attended by Ms. Nora Hilda De Los Reyes Vázquez, Head of the Education Liaison Office of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) in Tamaulipas, and Dr. Guadalupe Acosta Villarreal, Undersecretary of Higher and Higher Secondary Education in the state.
Diana Masso Quintana, Rector of UT Matamoros, opened the meeting by welcoming the directors and representatives of around 30 public and private higher education institutions from different parts of Tamaulipas. This event, which fosters dialogue and cooperation among institutions, aims to strengthen higher education through mutual collaboration.
The event, which brought together technological and polytechnic universities, technological institutes and normal schools, culminated with a speech by Dr. Guadalupe Acosta Villarreal, who was in charge of closing the event. In his speech, the Undersecretary highlighted the relevance of this type of meetings, underlining that ECOES represents a valuable opportunity to carry out a joint analysis of the educational system, as well as to promote research and the dissemination of culture in the field of higher education.
The meeting was held at the UT Matamoros’ linkage esplanade, where Dr. Acosta Villarreal thanked the Chancellor for facilitating this event, which reinforces the collaborative work and commitment to quality education in the region.
