CREATIVITY AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION CONTEST INVITED

The government of Tamaulipas, through the Ministry of Education in coordination with the Tamaulipas Council for Science, Innovation and Technology, invites elementary, middle and high school institutions to participate in the 14th. State Contest of Creativity and Technological Innovation, in its regional phase, with the slogan «Invent and Solve Problems».
This contest will take place on October 11 at 9:00 a.m., according to the rector of the Technological University of Matamoros, José Antonio Tovar Lara, and principals from elementary, middle, high and high schools are invited to register their projects on the web page http://www.cotacyt.gob.mx.
The purpose of this contest is to motivate children, adolescents and young people’s interest in science and technology, which is why they are invited to create a project related to these topics and register it on the aforementioned page.
At the elementary level, all students from first to sixth grade may participate; at the secondary level, all students of secondary school of any modality may participate; at the high school level, all high school students of any modality may participate, including professional high school students.
For the higher secondary level, students and graduates of higher technical, basic normal, undergraduate, engineering or postgraduate levels are invited to participate; there is also an open category that contemplates the participation of people who do not have official recognition of completion of studies; older people who are studying basic (primary or secondary) or higher secondary levels and in general, all those not considered in the previous categories.
First place winners will receive an economic prize of 2,000 pesos; second place, 1,000 pesos and third place, 500 pesos. The winners of the first three places in each of the categories will have the right to participate in the state phase of the contest, where the first place prizes for elementary and high school will be 10,000 pesos and a tablet computer.
For the middle and high school and open categories, the prizes for first place will be 20,000 pesos; for second place, 15,000 pesos; and for third place, 10,000 pesos.
Those interested in participating can register their projects on the aforementioned web page or one hour before the start of the contest, which will be held at the Technological University of Matamoros.
