CACECA AWARDS UTM

 

The Council for Accreditation in Accounting and Administration Education A.C. (CACECA) awarded the Technological University of Matamoros, Universidad Tecnológica de Matamoros, in recognition of the quality of its academic programs in 2011.

José Antonio Tovar Lara received the award during a ceremony held at the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.

Dr. Sonia Reynaga Obregón, General Director of University Higher Education of the Federal Government, represented the President of the Republic, Mr. Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, at this important ceremony.

Also present were Dr. Eduardo Avalos Lira, President of CACECA, as well as Eng. Luis Eduardo Zedillo Ponce de León, representative of the Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior A.C. (COPAES). (COPAES)

This new recognition for the Technological University of Matamoros reaffirms the commitment of the management, administrative and teaching staff to continue raising the standards of quality in the education provided to students in the different careers.

It is important to mention that UTM, which currently has an enrollment of 1,823 students, has been evaluated and accredited by different organizations, including the Accreditation Council for Engineering Education (CACEI), the Institutional Committee for the Evaluation of Higher Education, A.C. (CIEES), and is part of the UNESCO Friendly School program for its contribution to environmental protection; it is recognized as a certifying institution by Microsoft and has also received the Ibero-American award for educational quality, among others.
