The project to convert UT Matamoros into an International Bilingual and Sustainable Technological University was well accepted by the businessmen of this northeastern region of Tamaulipas since this will increase the opportunity for students to promote themselves professionally. In a meeting held between the UT Matamoros Rector, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, and businessmen of this region, she said that with this there will no longer be limitations for young people to reach a better position when working in the business world. «The intention is that each student who completes his or her studies with us, apart from having a basic knowledge of his or her specialty, will also be able to master the English language and why not French, valuable tools that today are in demand by the vast majority of companies in our country, not to mention abroad,» she said.

The meeting with the businessmen took place this Tuesday morning, January 30 at a convention center in the south of Matamoros, where at the end of the meeting Dr. Bermea Vázquez also spread this important news to representatives of the local media, explaining the creation of the zero semester, with 525 hours of English and that the BIS project will begin in September of this year with the careers of Mechatronics and International Business Operations. This International and Sustainable Bilingual Project will not represent any additional cost for the students.

Among the businessmen present were Jorge Cardenas from Grupo Radio Dual, Eduardo Gallegos from Centro Radio Avanzado, Paola Obregon representing the U.S. Consulate General in Matamoros, Arnoldo de la Garza Guerra from COTACYT, Onésimo Gallardo Landeros from the Secretary of Economy, Maricarmen Cadena Espinosa from CODEM, Pablo Reyna Quiroga from CANACINTRA, Valentín Contreras Mejía from CANACINTRA, Juan Carlos Hernández Flores from COPARMEX, Jorge Aguirre Vázquez, among other personalities.
