Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin, USA; Director of the Institute of Astronomy of the UNAM [2003-2010], President of the Mexican Academy of Sciences [2012-2014], General Director of Dissemination of Science of the UNAM [2012-2017] and General Coordinator of the Scientific and Consultative Forum Tecnologico [2014-2018], He is currently Coordinator of the Art, Science and Technology Program at UNAM.
